Team management
Newsrooms use JournoHelper as a team: shared sources, pooled AI credits, and Slack alerts in a common channel. Admins manage the roster; members cover their beats inside the same workspace.
Team structure
Each newsroom is a team with one or more members. When you sign up, you create or join a team. Your team name appears in the sidebar and on billing records.
Teams share followed sources — when anyone on the team subscribes to a body, it counts toward the team's coverage limits on your plan. Documents and alerts are per user account, but source subscriptions are team-scoped.
Admin vs. member roles
Admins can invite colleagues, change member roles, and access billing actions such as Manage Plan and add-on credit purchases. Members can use the full product — follow sources, run analysis, connect Slack — but cannot invite users or change the subscription.
Every team needs at least one admin. If you are the only user, you are the admin by default.

Inviting colleagues
Admins enter a colleague's work email on the Team page and send an invite. If they already have a JournoHelper account, they are added to your team. If not, we create an account and email them a sign-in link.
Invited members inherit access to the team's plan and credit pool. They set up their own alert preferences and Slack connection under their account.

AI credits on teams
Plans include a monthly AI credit pool for the whole team. Each analysis or press-release draft draws from that pool. The header ⚡ meter shows your personal usage context; team admins can allocate per-member limits on the Team page when using manual allocation mode.
When credits run out, admins can buy add-on packs from Manage Plan. Members see a prompt to ask their admin for more.
Where: In the app: Team (allocation); Manage Plan (purchases).
Switching teams
If you belong to more than one team (uncommon), use the team switcher in the sidebar to change your active workspace. Sources and billing follow the active team.
Leaving or transferring ownership
Contact support if you need to remove a member, dissolve a team, or transfer admin ownership. Self-serve ownership transfer is limited today — we handle edge cases manually to avoid locking a newsroom out of billing.
